Our story so far

Daz and Rob!

The Sticky Sausage story began in 2019, registering officially as a limited company in October 2020, but our journey started long before this……… 

The guys first met when working for the same restaurant group, they would meet up, grab a beer, and let loose about work, life, and how they could do things differently.  

“We were dreamers, always talking about taking over the world – or at least our little corner of it.” 

We've always been chefs at heart. The idea of working within the same four walls day in and day out, following someone else's rules, just didn't sit right with us. We wanted to create food we loved, explore new dishes and ideas, and do it all our way. And that's how Sticky Sausage was born – from a passion for good food and a stubborn refusal to play by the rules!! 

Then, just when things were starting to pick up steam, COVID hit. Never a pair to give in easily they rolled up their sleeves, got creative, and started offering home deliveries, creating weekly menu’s which grew and grew as the weeks and months of isolation rolled on. All of this was lovingly prepared in Rob’s family kitchen, a very interesting time trying to home school 2 kids with 5 fridge freezers in your living room!!  

Yeah, it was tough, but their friendship deepened, and a business was truly forged.  

One regret is the missed opportunity of a fly on the wall documentary, this would have made very interesting viewing, trust me! 

The guys learnt a lot about themselves and each other those years, like so many through those rough times, they we’re resilient to what the world was throwing at them but focused on building foundations for the future.... 

And so, the Sticky sausage mantra was formed ‘enjoy the journey’ all day everyday… 

In creating the Sticky family, we didn't know it at the time but we’re achieving a life ambition, it's true we’re both happiest being the guys in the back, but we love the interaction, meeting people, learning and creating new fantastic menus (we love a challenge!) We live for the moments when we get to share our food with others and see the instant gratification of the food enjoyed & appreciated…. What's not to love!! 

Sure, it's tough out there in the world of food business, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We're a team, a family, and we're in this together – enjoying every crazy moment of the journey.
